The tasks of motherhood

I read this quote today and it inspired me. Maybe its spring fever. Maybe it is that we finally have a plan to move back to Florida. Maybe I am deeply affected by the fact that no matter how much laundry I do, it is never done. Or could it be that we are still dealing with potty training issues? Whatever the reason, this strung my heart strings in a beautiful way. It should be one of the mantras of motherhood.

“I long to accomplish a great and noble task,

but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble.”

Helen Keller

My hope and prayer is that somewhere along the way, the accumulation of all my small tasks turn into the great and noble task of raising three beautiful girls into three faithful women of God. And in the midst of the daily monotony, I catch  glimpses of that miracle along the journey.
